Hiking at HardTimes Trail

Last Saturday we took a little hike as a family-after making homemade granola chunks (they didn't quite stay in bars-but, hey, it happens!) The boys LOVED being outside and allowed to THROW rocks into the water and play with sticks and "go fishing". Life is so simple right now-I'm loving it-hopin' it'll last forever! (esp. during nap time :)) Anyways! Just wanted to share a couple pix of our outting.
ROCKS!!!

Feel the load, get ready for lift off . . .

Do you see the leaf?

Hey, Jared, check this out! We can make the water SPLASSSSSSSSHHHHHH!

FISHING!!!!

I love how Brian catches the "most complementary angles" -I especially like to use them as the desktop wallpaper on the home computer

Grant's Birthday (just a little late)

On Grant's birthday he went to play at Fun Depot ("my birthday" as he calls it). Anyway, we just had a little play date-Sawyer, Chloe & Annie were there but they were all moving so fast I couldn 't get pictures of all of them together. Peggy did however get one of our little family-THANKS, Peggy!

C'mon, Pop, there are toys to play with here!

Everyone is excited to see Grant blow out his candles!

Hey, guys, check out the cake my Nana made me!

We had extra time to get these since he blew each candle out individually.

Yeah, check me out I'm 3 now!

For those of you who are unaware "how late" this is-it's one month and a day late . . . story of my life!

ARBORETUM

So, we were able to go to the EXTRAORDINARY BUG exhibit at the Arboretum w/ Sawyer & lucky for us Amaron had a camera-I LOVE the new art-that the kids can playon-FUNCTION! Several of the pieces have little science lessons on them, too.

Thanks again, Amaron for bailing me out-yet again!

Branch Activity

We had an Easter Activity at the Branch House with a Easter lesson and Egg Hunt-Which was immensely enjoyed by all who attended-Just so you know if the Branch is throwing a party you should come!

Look at me, I'm a little angel. . .

Jared, eat the peep. . . . Jared, "NO, Mom, NO!!! They're nasty!"

Do you see any eggs? I found one a minute ago, but when I shook it I couldn't hear anything so I chucked it. (if you don't believe my ask Sister Skroski she saw it all.)

Chocolate, I got chocolate and Mom is not close enough to stop me from eating it!!! HOORAY!

Hmm, let's check out my loot!

Watch, Dad, I can eat a whole cupcake in 1 bite!

Ha, you guys can run but I have a big stick.

OK, now everyone listen to me and no one will be hurt. . .

It's SNOWING, it's SNOWING

Granted it did snow late on Christmas day, but today there was enough to PLAY in!!! Jared lost his shoe early in the game and we had to go in for a new sock-after that he got a little extra help from Mom so he coudl stay outside as long as possible -which wasn't long b/c of the wind
Jared would only play in the snow w/ one hand-he quickly decided one little finger could do the work-it was really funny to watch.

It was still coming down-so pretty . . .

Jared had me spinning in circles. . . why? Well, maybe you could figure that part out. . . .

He's checking to see if he has time to make a get away . . . and he doesn't. So he decides to call Jared to come join him on his walk

But Jared took too long to get there-Grant's gone off on another adventure.

Hey, guys, where did my snowball just go???

Hey, look, Mom is making snowballs w/ her bare hands. . .silly, Mom.

We have only one word for you SNOW!!!!!!!

The Little Scheewe Christmas Morning

So, i bet you all think it's crazy at our house Christmas morning. . . why shouldn't it be every other morning is. . . just stay tuned and you can see the madness for yourselves . . .OK, it really wasn't mad but it was fun-it was so much fun to watch the boys-each discovery was so exciting-they like everything-i realize all Christmases will probably not be that easy so I will just enjoy it while it lasts.
